Protecting yourself from fraud

We do everything we can to protect our members from fraud, with strong checks and controls in place. But sometimes, criminals use clever tricks to try and get hold of your money or personal information.

At Penrith Building Society, we will never:

  • Ask you for your password, Penrith Online login details, or one-time passcodes

  • Call or message you asking you to move money out of your account

  • Send someone to your home to collect money, your passbook, or anything else

    Your eligible deposits held by a UK establishment of Penrith Building Society are protected up to a total of £85,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, the UK’s deposit protection scheme. Any deposits you hold above the limit are unlikely to be covered.
